B'ankora

The B'ankora were a sentient species of ruminant beings that lived in the galaxy. Prior to approximately 1300 BBY, their homeworld experienced a cataclysmic collision with an asteroid. This event prompted the Galactic Republic to provide them with a small safe haven. This sanctuary eventually evolved into the B'ankor Refuge, situated on Coruscant, the Republic's [capital](/article/capital] planet. Chasen Piian, who was serving as Supreme Chancellor of the Republic at that time, permanently granted this land to the remaining members of the species, enabling them to continue their quiet way of life with modest dwellings, cultivated fields, and pathways.

Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, the land on Coruscant that had been allocated to them was confiscated. This seizure occurred due to the implementation of an Imperial decree based on the principle of eminent domain. The entire B'ankora population, consisting of roughly ten thousand beings, underwent relocation to Parau VI. This world, positioned within the Mid Rim and nearing its end, possessed attributes comparable to those of the B'ankor Refuge. A mere nineteen years elapsed before the B'ankora vanished completely, a direct consequence of the Empire's actions.
