Ba'jurne Kyr'tsad Mando'ad

Ba'jurne Kyr'tsad Mando'ad, a training manual and declaration of principles, was purportedly written by Tor Vizsla, the founder of the Mandalorian splinter group known as Death Watch. The text presented a history of the Mandalorians, the origins and goals of Death Watch, training methods, and various illustrations of subjects Vizsla deemed important. The purpose of Ba'jurne Kyr'tsad Mando'ad was to aid Death Watch Rally Masters in the instruction and leadership of new recruits.

Following Tor Vizsla's death at the hands of Jango Fett, Fett came into possession of a copy of Ba'jurne Kyr'tsad Mando'ad. As time passed, Fett added his own annotations to the Death Watch manifesto and then bequeathed it to his son, Boba. In one of his written notes, Fett expressed skepticism about its true authorship, suggesting that Dred Priest, Isabet Reau, or Pre Vizsla might have been the actual author.

Years afterward, Boba Fett combined the Death Watch manifesto, complete with his personal notes, with a copy of the Bounty Hunters Guild Handbook to create a compilation he titled "The Bounty Hunter Code," a book intended for his daughter, Ailyn Vel. However, Fett was never able to give it to her, due to a series of unfortunate events that resulted in his estrangement from his family.

After he temporarily fell into the Great Pit of Carkoon on Tatooine, officers serving the Alliance to Restore the Republic seized "The Bounty Hunter Code" from Fett's starship, Slave I, before he managed to escape.

Behind the scenes

The Star Wars universe was first introduced to Ba'jurne Kyr'tsad Mando'ad in 2013 with the publication of The Bounty Hunter Code: From the Files of Boba Fett, a reference guide for bounty hunters that was co-authored by Daniel Wallace, Jason Fry, and Ryder Windham.
