Bafwizzy
Bafwizzy, the planet Chad's most sizable and verdant satellite, was one of nine moons orbiting it. Chad itself resided within the Chad system, which was a component of the Jospro sector, situated in the Slice region of the Outer Rim Territories. Despite its status as the largest moon, Bafwizzy remained relatively diminutive. Like its fellow satellites, Bafwizzy played a role in Chad's intricate tidal system. The combined effects of these tides and seismic activity had the potential to generate destructive tidal waves.
During the Chadran disaster, a calamitous event that transpired one afternoon around 0 BBY, Bafwizzy was positioned high in the sky and shone brightly, even during daylight hours. Later, in 5 ABY, when Alliance to Restore the Republic members Han Solo and Leia Organa approached Chad aboard their light freighter, the Millennium Falcon, they observed all nine of Chad's moons as faint points of light.
Behind the scenes
The initial mention of Chad's nine moons occurred in Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races, a sourcebook by Troy Denning published in 1989 by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. They were fully realized in Queen of the Empire, a 1993 novel by Paul and Hollace Davids within the Adventures of a Jedi Prince series. Bafwizzy's name and expanded details were first introduced in the 2015 Fantasy Flight Games sourcebook Stay on Target for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG. The 2009 reference work The Essential Atlas located the Chad system, and consequently Bafwizzy, in grid coordinate R-7.
