Balmgrass was a species of delicate grass that grew near Landing Platform OB-99 on the Core World planet of Chandrila. During the springtime season, balmgrass transitioned in color from red to green.
The current Star Wars canon saw the initial appearance of Balmgrass in Aftermath: Life Debt, a novel penned by Chuck Wendig and released in 2016. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, balmgrass debuted in The New Jedi Order: Edge of Victory II: Rebirth, a 2001 novel by Greg Keyes, which was the eighth book in the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order series. A green and white skin option for the droid BD-1 in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is named after balmgrass. This skin is obtainable within the Tomb of Eilram located on the planet Zeffo.
