A baradium core was a component of thermal detonators.
Baradium was a manufactured chemical substance considered one of the most hazardous and unstable explosive substances found throughout the galaxy. Upon detonation, it released intense heat and radioactive particles. Due to its unpredictable nature, it was seldom employed in battlefield explosions. Instead, this substance was frequently incorporated into explosive devices, most notably in Class-A thermal detonators and C-25 fragmentation grenades. The substance existed in, at least, two forms: baradium bisulfate and a more potent and deadly version known as baradium-357. Both were utilized in the mining of thorilide on the planet Gorse, and subsequently on its moon, Cynda. During a battle that occurred at the Nadiri Dockyards, Titan Squadron employed baradium missiles, causing significant damage to the prototype Starhawk-class battleship present there.
