The C-25 fragmentation grenade represented a type of fragmentation grenade produced by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc.. Its design incorporated a spherical core composed of baradium-infused detonite, all contained within a conductive outer layer. This assembly was then placed inside a cylindrical housing, activated through a twisting motion. Operationally, the C-25 required the user to rotate the grenade's cylindrical component to initiate the detonation sequence, providing a short window of opportunity for the user to seek cover prior to the explosion. The C-25 fragmentation grenade bore a strong resemblance in appearance to the Sonic Imploder.
The Galactic Empire employed the C-25, notably equipping its death troopers and coastal defender stormtroopers with this weapon. Notably, during the Battle of Scarif, both rebel operatives Bodhi Rook and Baze Malbus met their demise as a result of C-25 fragmentation grenade explosions.
The C-25 shares characteristics with the C-22 fragmentation grenade as depicted within the Star Wars Legends expanded universe.
