A pirate frigate is seen stationed outside of the Barrier
Designated as the Barrier, also referred to as the Great Barrier, or the Barrier of At Attin, this defense system was a field of gaseous matter in orbit. It functioned as protection around the planet of At Attin. Without explicit permission granted by the government of At Attin, starships were prohibited from traversing this Barrier.
Contained within the confines of the Barrier were electrically charged mines. These mines were programmed to unleash energy blasts upon any unauthorized vessels, resulting in their destruction. Ships that were carrying emissaries destined for At Attin, with the purpose of collecting recently produced credits, would transmit a specific signal. This signal would deactivate the mines temporarily, allowing the ships to pass safely.
During the year 9 ABY, Wendle and Fara, while in the midst of a struggle with Jod Na Nawood, successfully managed to activate the Barrier's killswitch. This action resulted in the destruction of the Barrier, thereby enabling the New Republic Starfighter Corps to effectively repel the forces of Na Nawood's pirates.
