The Barrier override was a mechanism, specifically a lever, situated within the Supervisor's Tower located on the planet of At Attin. Its function was to fully disable the Barrier defense system that protected the planet.
Sometime around the year 9 ABY, the pirate known as Jod Na Nawood, in his search for a method to navigate his frigate past the Barrier, discovered a button marked "Barrier override" inside the Supervisor's Tower. Upon pressing this button, the override lever emerged from the floor. Undersecretary Fara cautioned Na Nawood that activating it would obliterate the Barrier, offering instead to authorize his ship's passage. Subsequently, the younglings named Fern and Wim attempted to manipulate the override lever, aiming to enable New Republic forces to breach the Barrier and drive back the pirates, but their efforts were thwarted. Following Wim's father, Wendle, striking Na Nawood, he also attempted to engage the lever, only to be restrained by Na Nawood utilizing the Force. In the end, Fara assisted Wendle in pulling the lever, resulting in the Barrier's deactivation accompanied by a burst of light.
The barrier override was featured in "The Real Good Guys," the eighth installment of the live-action Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series on Disney+, which was broadcast on January 14, 2025.
