During the time of the Cold War fought between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, a Jedi Knight of youthful age launched an assault on the secret base belonging to the Sith Lord named Nefarid. The Jedi's goal was to prevent the Sith from using the stolen Death Mark laser superweapon to murder numerous innocent people. Having seen his old master Orgus Din die by the hand of Nefarid's superior, Darth Angral, the Knight prevailed in combat against Nefarid. Subsequently, the Knight utilized the Death Mark laser to aim at and obliterate the weapon's own targeting system.
