Battle of Celanon

The Battle of Celanon represents a clash that occurred at Celanon in 13 ABY, pitting the forces of the Imperial Remnant against those of the New Republic. Admiral Gilad Pellaeon led the Imperial forces, which were ultimately forced into retreat as they attempted to stem an invasion of territory under Imperial control. It was during this very engagement that Pellaeon suffered the loss of his flagship, the Star Dreadnought known as the Reaper.

Background

Subsequent to the New Republic's triumph over Moff Getelles within the Antemeridian sector, the New Republic initiated a push through the Borderland Regions, a neutral zone, aiming towards the Hydian Way, which marked the boundary of Imperial Space. The Moffs who governed the Imperial Remnant, concerned about the shifting balance of power, issued orders for Admiral Gilad Pellaeon to reposition his forces across the Hydian Way. Diverted from his ongoing campaign targeting the planet Adumar, Pellaeon directed his fleet to confront the New Republic. Despite inflicting considerable losses on the New Republic, Pellaeon's forces were ultimately compelled to fall back.

The battle

At the location of Celanon, Pellaeon once more met the forces of the New Republic in battle. Despite his efforts, he failed to achieve a victory, and, critically, lost his command ship, the Star Dreadnought named Reaper.

Aftermath

Following the events at Celanon, the New Republic chose not to press their advantage further, thereby bringing the invasion to a halt. While the New Republic had successfully expanded its influence within the Borderland Regions, the Empire did not suffer significant territorial losses. A period of relative calm, lasting four years, ensued between the two opposing factions after this engagement.
