Around 3639 BBY, as the Galactic War commenced, Karagga the Unyielding, the Supreme Mogul leading the Hutt Cartel, observed a power vacuum arising from the conflict between the Republic and the Sith. Seeking to exploit this opportunity, the Cartel attempted to fill the void, effectively becoming a third participant in the ongoing war. Consequently, Karagga terminated all alliances with both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. Perceiving Karagga's actions as a menace, both the Republic and the Empire dispatched envoys to challenge Karagga and compel him to cease his hostile actions. Ultimately, Karagga and his entire retinue met their demise.
The Dread Masters' growing influence instilled a sense of vulnerability within the Hutt Cartel, prompting them to adopt an aggressive stance and engage in the Galactic War. In response to this perceived threat, both the Republic and the Sith Empire opted to deploy a strike team to Karagga's Palace situated on Nal Hutta. Their mission was to confront the Supreme Mogul and address his recent actions.
Upon their arrival, the strike team was immediately met with hostility. As they approached the palace entrance, they were ambushed by Karagga's guards, a diverse group of mercenaries comprised of species such as Gamorreans, Weequay, and others. Retaliating in kind, the team battled their way into the palace, eventually reaching the audience chamber. Karagga seemingly awaited their arrival, but he activated a concealed mechanism, causing the floor beneath the group to collapse, plunging them into a pit. Karagga then unleashed the Rancor known as Bonethrasher into the pit, mocking the strike team. The group confronted the beast within a large arena encircled by acid, forcing them to constantly reposition themselves to evade its deadly attacks. Karagga attempted to bolster his pet by feeding it Gamorreans, intending to intensify Bonethrasher's rage. He also released a pair of Manka cats to further assault the strike team. However, these efforts proved futile, and after a prolonged and arduous battle, Bonethrasher was ultimately defeated. This defeat incited Karagga's fury.
The strike team fought their way back up into the palace, overcoming numerous guards belonging to Karagga and causing the Hutt's guests to flee. Upon returning to the audience chamber, they discovered that it was occupied by a pair of bounty hunters: the Kaleesh named Jarg and the Devaronian known as Sorno. The strike team divided its forces to engage this new threat, countering their enemies' deployment of carbonite sprays, missile barrages, and flamethrowers. After one of the bounty hunters was defeated, the Herald of Karagga offered the surviving bounty hunter the full payment to try and get them to fight harder, but the strike team succeeded in killing both opponents. To reach Karagga, the team traversed the palace's sewage system, encountering Womp rats and Jurgorans that inhabited the tunnels. After defeating these creatures, along with additional guards, they emerged into an open area containing several cannon batteries. These were defended by a group of trained Kintan crushers and their Human and Weequay handlers. Fighting through these, the strike team hacked the cannon controls to override Karagga's security measures, gaining access to Karraga's droid factory.
Following the defeat of a squad of Twi'lek infiltrators guarding the plaza, the strike team confronted Foreman Crusher and his Gamorrean handlers. Foreman Crusher engaged the group, repeatedly entering a state of intense rage when injured, and was supported by additional Gamorreans, but was eventually overwhelmed and killed. Karagga's droid factory was filled with powerful Terror Droids, mechanics, and other weaponry. After navigating through a series of corridors, the strike team arrived at the fabrication room. This area was occupied by the G4-B3 Heavy Fabricator, an experimental battledroid equipped with advanced regenerative armor. To defeat this formidable enemy, the strike team coordinated the factory equipment to periodically immolate the droid, ultimately breaching its armor plating. Upon exiting the droid factory, the strike team engaged in a final series of battles against guards positioned on catwalks, defeating them and their turrets. They then reached the palace's internal spaceport, where an enraged Karagga vowed to confront the group personally. The Hutt piloted a six-legged walker. This machine possessed an array of powerful weapons, including flamethrowers, a drill, a generator for spatial distortion fields, and the ability to deploy explosive mouse droids. Despite these formidable capabilities, the strike team successfully destroyed the machine, resulting in Karagga's death. Subsequently, they boarded a shuttle and escaped the facility.
