Battle of Nouane

A battle occurred on Nouane, the world serving as the capital of the small empire also named Nouane, during the Mandalorian Wars. The Mandalorians initiated a Coreward offensive from Mandalorian space into the Galactic Republic in 3963 BBY. Subsequent to taking Serroco, the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders advanced along their invasion path to Nouane and seized control; consequently, representatives from the besieged planet sought assistance from the Republic. Following their conquest of Nouane, the Mandalorians achieved a victory at Dagary Minor before their progression was stopped after a battle on Omonoth. The Mandalorians were eventually forced to leave Nouane, leading to the government joining the Republic as a semi-autonomous Allied Region.

Vilnau Teupt discussed the evolution of the Mandalorian race in the keynote address at the four hundred and twelfth Proceedings of Galactic Anthropology and History in 24 ABY, referencing the capture of Nouane while explaining the Mandalorian Wars.

Behind the scenes

The battle received a mention in The Essential Atlas, a book published in 2009 and authored by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace. It was later alluded to within an in-universe speech documented in 2012's The Essential Guide to Warfare.
