The Imperial Remnant, an associated state deeply connected to the Galactic Alliance, formed an alliance with Darth Caedus. The Galactic Alliance sought to seize the Roche asteroids with the aim of harnessing Verpine technology to bolster their war efforts. The Mandalorians, in league with the Verpine, mounted a defense, aided by Jacen's twin sister, Jaina Solo.
The Remnant deployed an aerosol nanovirus specifically designed to eliminate only the soldier caste, leaving other beings and the Verpine unharmed, allowing them to continue their work in the munitions factories.
During the conflict, the Imperials utilized the Super Star Destroyer Dominion as their command vessel. Nickel One led a focused starfighter attack that transformed it into a burning wreck.
