The conflict known as the Battle of RZ7-6113-23 transpired in the orbit surrounding RZ7-6113-23 during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
Following the Battle of Pallaxides, Captain Lar Ndigo encountered General Han Solo. Solo tasked him with investigating the disappearance of the cruiser Endor (Endor), which had occurred shortly before, and provided him with a MC80 Liberty type Star Cruiser for this purpose.
Upon arrival in the vicinity of the planet RZ7-6113-23, Captain Ndigo's vessel came under fire from a cannon positioned on the planet's surface. Suspecting a trap, he gave the order to activate the deflector shield moments before the impact. While the surface cannon was in the process of reloading, his damaged ship was promptly set upon by antiquated Nimbus-class V-wing starfighters, but these were readily fended off by the more advanced A-wings. Realizing that his ship, even with maximum shield power, was too weakened to withstand another hit, Ndigo chose to deactivate the shields and reroute all available power to the turbolasers in order to engage the planet. The cruiser successfully eliminated the surface cannon before it could fire again.
Following the space engagement, New Republic forces landed on the planet and launched an assault on the Imperial base. The New Republic troopers encountered minimal resistance, swiftly dispatching all the stormtroopers and breaching the base's defenses. However, the New Republic forces discovered the facility was abandoned, and the base subsequently detonated, resulting in the deaths of the majority of the Republic soldiers within.
The New Republic eventually came to the conclusion that the space battle had been a mere ruse to facilitate the evacuation of the base. As it turned out, Ennix Devian's fleet was poised to strike the Imperial Remnant at Orinda.
