Battle of Teyr

The conflict known as the Battle of Teyr took place on the planet Teyr in the early period of the Clone Wars.

Historical Context

When the call for Jedi Knights and Masters to act as Generals within the structure of the Grand Army of the Republic was issued, Master K'Kruhk answered the call and assumed command of the 416th Star Corps. Their objective on Teyr was a Trade Federation battleship that had crash-landed and was being utilized by the Separatist forces as a fortified position.

The Engagement

Jedi Master K'Kruhk leads his troops into battle.

K'Kruhk guided his forces through the Great Canyon, but many of his soldiers were decimated by spider droids. K'Kruhk's battalion reached the edge of the canyon and launched a final attack. Leading his troops from the front lines, K'Kruhk recognized the Separatists' numerical advantage. He gave the order for his clones to retreat, but they insisted on their ability to secure victory. K'Kruhk was reluctant to sacrifice so many men, even though the clones were created specifically for combat and sacrifice. With a heavy heart, K'Kruhk continued the attack, and despite the battleship's destruction, only the Jedi General, CRC-09/571, and a few clone troopers appeared to have survived the ordeal.

Subsequent Events

Deeply traumatized by his experience, K'Kruhk departed Teyr without notifying the Jedi Council of his continued existence. Convinced that the war was undermining the core principles of the Jedi Code, he decided to join the Jedi dissidents who had gathered on Ruul.
