Battle of the Jade Moon

A conflict unfolded at the Jade Moon amidst the backdrop of the Galactic Civil War, occurring swiftly after the Gerrard V liberation. This engagement was a raid orchestrated by Kasan Moor, a former Imperial starfighter pilot, subsequent to her shift in allegiance to the Rebel Alliance. The Jade Moon orbiting Loronar functioned as a supply hub for the Galactic Empire, housing a manufacturing plant for both AT-AT walkers and blaster rifles. The assault was executed in two phases: a ground offensive supported by Rogue Squadron. With the Alliance claiming victory, attention then shifted to other military sites disclosed by Kasan Moor.

Prelude

During the campaign to free Gerrard V, Kasan Moor, the commanding officer of the 128th TIE Interceptor Squadron, chose to surrender after Crix Madine, known as Gold Leader, disabled her TIE/IN interceptor. She then contributed her fighter to the Rebel cause and provided the Rebellion with intelligence regarding several Imperial facility locations. One such site was located on the Jade Moon. Serving as a crucial military supply depot, it contained a vital factory producing AT-ATs and E-11 blaster rifles. Rogue Squadron then assembled its members and prepared to head to the supply moon.

The battle

A Rebel SpecForce commandos team made their way to the moon aboard a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle. After landing, they began their infiltration of the moon, heading toward the supply base, only to be quickly met by AT-PT walkers. Descending, Rogue Squadron eliminated the walker attackers, which enabled the combat vehicles convoy to continue forward. Upon reaching the depot, a ray shield was engaged, preventing any attacks.

Luke Skywalker alongside Rogue Squadron conducted reconnaissance of the trenches across the moon, seeking the shield generator. After locating it, Luke launched a barrage of Proton torpedoes into the structure, thereby permitting an assault on the depot. With the shield now down, commandos disembarked from the transports and infiltrated the complex. Rogue Squadron provided aerial support, destroying TIE/sa bombers and bombarding the surface. The external facility was reduced to debris, and the commandos then completed the task of sabotaging and seizing materials from the depot.

Aftermath

The Alliance considered the operation a success. This victory validated the reliability of Kasan Moor and the information she had shared. Kasan expressed the oddity of attacking the Empire, after having followed their directives for so long. Luke reassured her, stating his happiness that she had joined the Rebellion, and that she was now fighting for her own beliefs. However, Kasan remained unconvinced. Soon after this conflict, Rogue Squadron launched an assault on the Imperial construction yard located on Balmorra, utilizing information provided by Moor.
