Befa, a male human, held the rank of commander within the Galactic Empire's Military. After the Galactic Empire suffered a loss with the destruction of the Death Star above Yavin 4, Befa received orders to go to Jedha and extract the remaining kyber crystals from the moon. Due to his inability to gather a sufficient quantity of crystals, Commander Kanchar killed Befa as punishment for this inadequacy.
