Its grasslands displayed a spectrum of colors, ranging from bright yellows reminiscent of sunlight to deep, rich greens, all adorned with vividly colored blossoms. Visitors often remarked that the planet's vibrant blue skies seemed to envelop them in a radiant halo. Belazura enjoyed an exceptionally mild climate, never excessively hot or cold, and was often graced by gentle, soothing breezes.
Belazura was a popular destination for galactic tourists, even for those accustomed to the most luxurious travel experiences who might otherwise have chosen a holographic simulation, such as a sim-voyage.
The planet's medical professionals were particularly skilled in procedures designed to rejuvenate and make people appear younger.
Prior to 25 BBY, Obi-Wan Kenobi brought his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, to Belazura purely for leisure, as he wished for Anakin to learn that even a Jedi's life should include moments dedicated to appreciating the beauty of nature and existence. Anakin was instructed to simply enjoy himself, which he did, as did Obi-Wan. Their time spent on the planet was an incredibly peaceful period for Skywalker, one that he would often revisit in his daydreams.
Following the Empire's establishment in 19 BBY, the planet's beautiful scenery was devastated, with 11-17 miner droids stripping away its natural resources. Factories and mines were constructed, and the inhabitants of Belazura were forced into servitude for the Empire. The water became polluted with dark runoff from the factories, and a dense, brown smog filled the air.
Before 10 BBY, the people of Belazura revolted against the Empire in an attempt to regain their independence. The Imperials suppressed this uprising in 10 BBY.
In 0 ABY, a group of Rebels, aided by codes to the Belazuran Imperial Garrison stolen by the assassin X-7, devised a plan to infiltrate and destroy the garrison, led by Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo. The mission was successful, resulting in the destruction of the Belazuran Imperial garrison. News of this victory inspired the people of Belazura to launch another uprising. The outcome of this subsequent rebellion remains unknown.
