Berren Sid Té was a human operative of the Rebel Alliance, specifically a member of Sleeper Cell V-16. An orphan raised in the Fabrillan city on the planet of Malthor, Sid managed to create a substantial vending business. Upon joining the Alliance, around 0 BBY, he transformed his vendor network into a crucial intelligence network, providing the Rebel Alliance with vital information.
Barren Sid Té, also known as Sid, was born on the planet Malthor. Starting as a street urchin, he worked diligently and cleverly, first becoming a street vendor and then establishing the premier vending empire in Fabrillan city. His door-to-door sales and street hawking earned him thousands of credits monthly, yet Sid remained on the streets, working persistently and gaining extensive knowledge of Fabrillan and its inhabitants.
He came to understand how the Empire suppressed individuality and enterprise, and that Fabrillan, being a trade hub, would eventually become a target for the Galactic Empire. He resolved to take action. His street vendors continued to amass credits, but they also gathered information for Sid and the Alliance.
During the Galactic Civil War, Sid established an intelligence network and became a member of the rebel operative cell Sleeper Cell V-16. His network of vendors and suppliers evolved into a vital intelligence asset, trading deals for gossip with merchants throughout the city. Through his connections, Sid discovered the identities of two other cell members: Reginna Bel Typolla and Spek-Man. When Rebel agents require assistance in Fabrillan, they seek out Sid, who relays the message to the rest of V-16 to provide the necessary support.
Sid is a male human native to Malthor. He possessed a strong work ethic and a long-term vision, enabling him to build a financial empire from nothing. He is sufficiently cunning to keep his information network unaware of his true purpose. They simply believe him to be a slightly dubious character with an obsession for knowing everything happening within 'his city'. He rewards information received in an unpredictable manner, further concealing his real intentions.
Ed Stark conceived Berren Sid Té for Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a supplement for the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games in 1994. Brian Schomburg provided the illustration.
