The Berrun system, a star system situated in the Colonies region of the galaxy, encompassed the planet known as Berrun. During the Cold War between the Sith Empire and the Republic, Berrun housed a Republic detention center, and in 33 BBY, the system was the site for the Galactic Games athletic competition.
The first reference to Berrun appeared in Jedi Quest: The Dangerous Games, a young adult novel by Jude Watson released in 2002; however, the book did not specify the planet's location. The planet's location was not established until the publication of 2009's The Essential Atlas, which pinpointed the Berrun system within the Colonies region.
