Beta Squadron was a military division of the Republic, notable for its involvement in combat on the planet of Raxus Prime. This squadron consisted of a complement of three AT-TEs along with a pair of AT-XTs.
Beta Squadron was included among the clone troopers that took part in the attack on an excavation location. At this location the Sith Lord Count Dooku was trying to retrieve the Force Harvester, a device necessary for providing energy to the Dark Reaper, which was an ancient weapon of the Sith. While the main force launched a frontal assault, spearheaded by Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, Beta Squadron chose a different path to the base's edge, waiting on the far side of a force field barrier.
When Alpha Company forced their way into the site, they fought the remaining Separatist troops. During the battle Kenobi destroyed a power generator, which deactivated the gate, allowing Beta Squadron to move inside. After the fighting ended and the site was secure, Dooku made a bold move by appearing in plain sight, hoping that Skywalker would chase him, which he did. As Kenobi called out to his padawan, a [Protodeka] revealed itself and swiftly eliminated the Republic forces in the vicinity, Beta Squadron included. Following an intense fight, Kenobi managed to take down the massive tank. Afterward, he received word from troopers that the Separatists had already located their target.
