The bio cannon functioned as a massive heavy weapon, and it was a large droid akin to the Galactic Republic Ball Gun and a droideka. This weapon was utilized by the Trade Federation. Much like the Droideka Mark II and the droideka, it possessed the capability to transform into a rolling, armored sphere. Its construction also incorporated four legs, which allowed it to stand upright.
In terms of functionality, it bore resemblance to the SPHA-T, although it offered a reduced level of defense.
The bio cannons are featured in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, a video game from 2001, as well as in Clone Campaigns, the game's expansion pack released in 2002.
