Blackwing One was the designation used by a youthful male aviator, origininating from the world of Viamarr 4; his identity remains a mystery.
In 7.5 ABY, during a visit to Viamarr 4, the Night Caller dispatched a pair of TIE Fighters, known as Gray Flight, to make a low pass over Velery, the planet's primary city. Unbeknownst to the inhabitants, Zsinj's Warlord vessel had already fallen into the hands of Wraith Squadron, a newly established special operations unit of the New Republic. Velery Station attempted to exert authority over Gray Flight, comprised of Wedge Antilles and Falynn Sandskimmer, instructing them to land at the local spaceport. Upon their refusal, Blackwing One, along with his flight partner, pursued Gray Flight in their Z-95 Headhunters, aiming to enforce Velery Station's demands.
A simulated aerial engagement followed, in which Antilles demonstrated superior piloting skills against Blackwing One. The confrontation concluded when Velery Station ordered Blackwing Flight to return. Blackwing One voiced his objection, but ultimately complied when Velery Station threatened to reassign him to tractor duties.
