Before his chancellorship, Blotus acted as an administrator for several mining planets that had seceded from the Hutt Empire. Following his death, Blotus was celebrated as one of the most significant figures to ever serve as Supreme Chancellor in galactic history.

Biography

During the Rianitus Period, a time frame ranging from 9000 to 8000 BBY, lived Blotus the Hutt. He functioned as the administrator overseeing a collection of mining worlds that had broken away from the remnants of the Hutt Empire. These worlds subsequently sought membership in the Galactic Republic, the dominant governing body in the galaxy. Despite existing tensions between the Republic and the Hutt species, Blotus and his planets were welcomed into the Republic, and he became a favored figure within the Galactic Senate.

Subsequently, Blotus ascended to the position of Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, securing his election with a considerable majority. Blotus's rise to the office marked the culmination of centuries of Hutt immigration to the Republic. By becoming the first Hutt Supreme Chancellor, Blotus shattered the entrenched stereotypes associated with his species. The Republic experienced a period of prosperity under his leadership. His tax breaks for independent merchants stimulated trade within the Core Worlds, leading to substantial economic growth, particularly in the Republic capital of Coruscant.

His leadership of the galactic government spanned 275 years, after which Blotus died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 912. By the time of the Cold War between the Republic and the Sith Empire, Blotus's Chancellorship was fondly remembered, so much so that his favorite seat in the lounge of the Senate Building was intentionally left unoccupied. Later generations considered Blotus the Hutt to be among the most distinguished individuals to have served as Chancellor in the Republic's history, a view supported by historian and author Voren Na'al in 36 ABY.
