Boab Deduun was a scientist of the male persuasion. He engineered the prototype M1-4X Advanced War Droid. This was for the Galactic Republic's Advanced Development Laboratories and the Republic Special Forces Division during the Cold War that occurred with the reconstituted Sith Empire.
Doctor Nasan Godera, who was the main designer for the Galactic Republic's Advanced Development Laboratories, had a protégé. This protégé was Boab Deduun, a male scientist. By the time of the Cold War with the Sith Empire, Deduun had become a respected doctor himself. He created the M1-4X Advanced War Droid under the name Project Ignition. However, the project was stopped due to issues concerning the droid's power core. Lieutenant Harron Tavus of the Republic Special Forces Division then contacted Deduun. Tavus convinced Deduun to restart the project using Tavus' own money. Tavus stated that the cancellation was a trick to keep the project a secret. Deduun completed the droid in his lab at a secret location. He instilled a strong love for the Republic and a strong dislike for the Empire in M1-4X before Tavus took the completed droid to use it for his own purposes.
The official site for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game that BioWare released in 2011, first mentioned Boab Deduun on the Holonet section. This was in the entry for the Trooper companion known as M1-4X.
