Brub berry sauce was a compote, specifically a fruity one, crafted using brub berries sourced from the brub-brub bush located on the Forest Moon of Endor. Following the release of his initial cookbook in 34 ABY, Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs later featured a recipe for this sauce in his second cookbook, entitled The Life Day Cookbook.
According to Tuggs, the flavor profile of this compote was a blend of sweet and tart notes, and he regarded it as a distinctive sauce capable of standing alone rather than merely complementing other dishes. Nevertheless, he suggested pairing it with entrees such as Engine Roasted Tip-Yip or Glazed Kod'yok, while also acknowledging the possibility that someone might simply choose to consume a bowl of the brub berry sauce all by itself.
The introduction of brub berry sauce occurred in the 2021 recipe book titled Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, which was written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe provided in the book for this sauce calls for the use of ingredients such as blueberries, brown sugar, orange juice, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and cloves.
