Caldra Tertius, in conjunction with Caldra Prime, served as a central hub for several commercial worlds. Around the time of the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY, a band of pirates discovered a hyperspace lane stretching from the Vosch Cluster to these trade worlds. The Rebel Alliance fleet concentrated Part of their forces at a rendezvous point situated between the Vosch Cluster and the trade worlds surrounding both Caldra Prime and Caldra Tertius, leading to a situation where Caldra Tertius faced danger from the pirates.
The short story "Rendezvous Point," penned by Jason Fry and included in From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back, released in 2020, featured a reference to Caldra Tertius.
