A carax is described as a sizable, six-limbed insectoid being. During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Rak'qua tribe's leader, Rrynt'vor, possessed a carax by the name of Ageaughu. Following the events of the Battle of Yavin, this creature took up residence in a cavern located on Station Gamma, which was situated within the Bright Jewel system.
The carax represents one of the numerous creature species that were conceptualized while Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, was in development for the video game. Despite this, the creature was removed from the initial game version, which was launched on June 26, 2003.
Ultimately, a carax, specifically Ageaughu, was incorporated into the game through the "New Player Tutorial," which was implemented with the launch of "Publish 25," also referred to as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005. However, the creature was never formally identified within the game as a carax. The species' designation was present in both the original conceptual artwork and the game's data files.
