Celebration II, taking place in Indianapolis, Indiana, was the second large Star Wars convention organized by LucasArts. This event, a part of a larger series, took place in 2002 from May 3 to May 5 to commemorate the launch of Attack of the Clones.
The convention Celebration II began with Coruscant, where Stephen J. Sansweet delivered his opening welcome address to all attendees. He outlined the scheduled activities in his address, pointing out the sheer volume of events that would be impossible for any single person to experience fully.
Numerous guests were present at Celebration II; however, not all could physically attend the convention. Several cast members conveyed their greetings to the audience through video messages. Among these cast members were Samuel L. Jackson, Pernilla August, John Williams, Natalie Portman, Christopher Lee, Ian McDiarmid, Ewan McGregor, and George Lucas.
