Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson, an American performer, is known for his role as Mace Windu, a Jedi Master, within the prequel trilogy. Furthermore, he lent his voice to the character in both the film The Clone Wars and the video game titled LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

Biography

Jackson secured the part of Windu after expressing his admiration for the Star Wars franchise on a radio show. In an interview conducted before the release of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, Jackson mentioned that he wanted his character's death scene to be dignified.

Prior to the commencement of filming for the First Battle of Geonosis, Jackson inquired with George Lucas, the director, about the available colors for lightsabers. Lucas explained that "good guys are green and blue, bad guys are red." Upon Jackson's suggestion of purple, Lucas responded with "You might get purple." Consequently, Mace Windu became the first Jedi in a Star Wars film to wield a lightsaber that was neither red, blue, nor green.

When questioned about a potential appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Jackson revealed that he hadn't received any contact and was occupied with other projects. Nevertheless, he expressed that "it would have been interesting" and conveyed his optimism for the new installments.
