Center Sphere District, sometimes called Center Sphere, represented a specific area within the city of Bartyn's Landing located on Lamaredd. This district was dedicated to providing services, while residential areas were situated elsewhere in the city. The name "Center Sphere District" originated from its location within the remnants of what once formed the central orb of a LH-3010 capital freighter, which had been disassembled to form the city's foundational structure.
Approximately five centuries prior to the Battle of Naboo, Hugo Bartyn, an operative working for the Outer Rim Oreworks Company, received the appointment of Administrator for the mines of the planet Lamaredd. Bartyn recognized Lamaredd's potential as a seafood source and planned to establish a fishing community to export these delicacies independently of ORO's oversight.
Using his personal funds, Bartyn acquired a dilapidated Hoersch-Kessel LH-3010 capital freighter from Neimoidian traders and utilized mining equipment to dismantle sections of it, thereby creating the framework for the coastal settlement. The central command module was selected to serve as the city's core, resulting in the destruction of its upper section.
Over the ensuing centuries, the settlement, which became known as Bartyn's Landing, flourished. The "center of the city" became recognized as "Center Sphere District," or simply "Center Sphere," with businesses there focusing on the provision of services. This arrangement persisted for a minimum of five centuries. Those needing to closely monitor events within the city, such as the Security Chief, were required to be physically present within the Sphere. Due to its status as a remote town, directions to Center Sphere were often handwritten on walls.
The Skylight Market occupied the geographical heart of the District, situated directly beneath the open top, and its diverse stalls offered a wide array of goods. Additional services in the vicinity encompassed the media outlet Center Sphere Flimsinews and the drinking establishment known as Tailfin Cantina. The most frequented and bustling establishment within the District was the combined inn and something Miss Mylla's Saloon, positioned directly across from its main competitor, The Even Cut Sabacc Parlor and Casino.
The Mighty Musstoro, a Gungan wrestler, operated within the area, engaging in street fights for monetary gain, although he lacked a fixed business location. The District bordered a docking zone accessible only to local residents. A section of this zone was designated as Pier Green. Numerous citizens participated in Cargo Track races, circling the District along its perimeter.
