Production Notes
The 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and released by Ubisoft, marked chalcopyrite's initial appearance in the canon timeline. Within the game's mechanics, it served as a material to improve the player's blaster.
Its initial mention within Star Wars Legends occurred in the 1990 guidebook Galaxy Guide 6: Tramp Freighters by West End Games, a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
Out of universe, chalcopyrite is a copper iron sulfide mineral; historically, it has been a significant source of copper.
