Chemists were scientists who focused primarily on the study and application of chemicals. After analyzing the characteristics of Defel fur, the chemists working for Ayelixe/Krongbing Textiles successfully developed synthetic shadowsilk.
The term "Chemist" initially appeared in the Gadgets and Gear sourcebook, authored by Alexis Dykema, Keith Kappel, and Phil Maiewski. Fantasy Flight Games released this sourcebook on September 13, 2019. The scientific profession was later properly introduced with Skora's inclusion in the Star Wars: Hunters game for mobile devices in 2022.
