Cherith Fel, a Human female, was the daughter of General Baron Soontir Fel and Syal Antilles Fel, and held the position of their fourth child. Her upbringing took place on the planet Nirauan, situated within Wild Space. Upon reaching adulthood, she enlisted in the military of the Empire of the Hand. Her death occurred in combat, battling against one of the Empire's numerous adversaries sometime before 25 ABY.
Born to General Baron Soontir Fel and Syal Antilles Fel, a former Imperial starfighter ace and Imperial actress, respectively, Cherith Fel was a Human female who came into the world between 8 ABY and 11 ABY. Her parents had relocated to the Unknown Regions prior to her birth to serve in Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo's Empire of the Hand. In that region, they faced various dangers, protecting both the known galaxy and the Chiss Ascendancy, the people of Mitth'raw'nuruodo. Cherith had three older brothers: Chak, Davin, and Jagged, as well as a younger sister named Wynssa. Cem, another brother, was kept hidden as a shadow child, a Chiss practice to ensure the family's survival in case of an attack.
Following in the footsteps of her older brothers, Cherith joined the Empire of the Hand's military. She was killed in action against one of the Empire of the Hand's enemies sometime between 22 ABY and 25 ABY, after the death of her brother Davin in the same conflict; she was not yet eighteen years of age. By 27 ABY, Soontir Fel had established a secret military base named the Cherith base, one of many such installations. This base was named in her honor. Her father, who had also been her commanding officer, was deeply affected by her passing.

Cherith Fel was initially mentioned, though indirectly, in The New Jedi Order: Dark Tide II: Ruin, written by Michael A. Stackpole, when Jagged Fel revealed that both his older brother and younger sister had perished in battle. Later, in Elaine Cunningham's The New Jedi Order: Dark Journey, it was established that the younger sister's name was Cherith. Her only other mention in a narrative was in Dark Nest I: The Joiner King. She has never been depicted directly in any story.
The Official Star Wars Fact File 122 and The Official Star Wars Fact File 140 both incorrectly state that Fel met her end during the Battle of Ithor. However, that battle occurred after she had already died, as clearly stated in Dark Tide II: Ruin, the source that introduced her character. The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia also mentions that she perished during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion; this does not necessarily contradict the timeline of her death. However, the age given at the time of her death does; she is stated to have been 19 when she died. This contradicts the fact that she was younger than Jagged, and died when or before Jagged was 18.
