Cheunh was the primary language utilized by the Chiss species. The Cheunh term for a Force-sensitive Chiss navigator, ozyly-esehembo, was equivalent to "sky-walker" in Galactic Basic Standard. Grand Admiral Thrawn, who was a Chiss himself, remembered being perplexed upon his initial encounter with Anakin Skywalker during the era of the Clone Wars, after witnessing Darth Vader being requested to employ the Force for navigation on the Chimaera.
The Timothy Zahn novel, Thrawn: Alliances, marked the initial appearance of Cheunh. It is featured to a greater extent in the Thrawn Ascendancy trilogy, which focuses on the Chiss Ascendancy.
