Armored personnel carrier

The designation armored personnel carrier, frequently shortened to APC, described a wide array of armored land vehicles designed for use as troop transports. Primarily, armed forces utilized them to move soldiers across the battlefield. Civilian organizations could also employ armored personnel carriers to move personnel in dangerous areas. A notable example includes the A-19 armored transport used by the Corellia Mining Corporation. Most APCs used by militaries were categorized as "light" vehicles.
Historical Information
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic made modifications to A-A5 speeder trucks so that they could function as armored personnel carriers. The Freerunner was a favored APC by the Alliance Special Forces.
The Cilpari Resistance employed armored personnel carriers on Cilpar during 4 ABY. These vehicles were gray and low to the ground, utilizing tracked wheels instead of repulsorlift tech. They also featured a dome-shaped cockpit with a red viewport. A group of these vehicles was used to move resistance fighters into battle against the local Moff Boren Tascl, with Rogue Squadron providing aerial support.
During the Swarm War, the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force used armed armored personnel carriers in their conflicts with the Killiks. The Chiss APCs had maser cannons mounted on top. They were deployed against the approaching Kolosolok forces during the Battle of Tenupe.
