A clash on Cilpar saw the Cilpari Resistance, alongside Rogue Squadron, achieve victory over the Galactic Empire's forces stationed on Cilpar. This conflict stemmed from a mission to Cilpar.
Not long after the New Republic was established, Rogue Squadron received orders to transport a food convoy from Cilpar to Mrlsst. At the time, Cilpar was an Imperial controlled planet where a resistance movement, unaffiliated with the New Republic, was active in 4 ABY. Targeter, a representative of the New Republic, had previously made contact with the Cilpari underground, which was led by Elscol Loro.
As the Rogues entered Cilpar's airspace, they were ambushed by a group of a dozen TIE fighters. Wes Janson's starfighter was shot down, prompting Tycho Celchu to land in order to rescue Janson. The remainder of the squadron proceeded towards their temporary base, situated just west of the city of Kiidan. They soon discovered that the food convoy had never reached its destination, due to someone having informed the Imperial forces on the planet of its arrival.

Meanwhile, Tycho located Janson, and the pair sought refuge in a nearby cave. A group of underground fighters, led by Elscol Loro, arrived at the New Republic's encampment and took the Rogues prisoner. Loro was driven by the fact that a traitor among the pilots betrayed them. The Rebels then escorted the group to the devastated city of Tamarack, in order to show them the extent of the damage that Moff Boren Tascl had inflicted upon the local population while hunting for Rebels. They were then attacked by Tascl's Imperial forces, but they succeeded in escaping.
Concurrently, Tycho and Janson encountered a woman who they initially mistook for Princess Leia Organa. Winter, who was serving as Cilpar's "Targeter", managed to convince Tycho to infiltrate the local Imperial base in the guise of a TIE pilot. Shortly after, he was compelled to join the local TIE squadron in an assault on the fleeing Rogues and underground fighters. During the subsequent battle, Winter surprised the Imperials by engaging them with Tycho's X-wing, piloted by Tycho's astromech, and shot down numerous TIE fighters, including Tycho's own.

Soon after Winter's arrival at the cave, Vance Rego, a member of the underground, showed up with a squad of stormtroopers and took Janson and Winter (who he believed to be Leia) captive. In the jungle, Tycho was rescued by the Imperials, only to find himself on the same transport as Winter, headed for the base.
The traitor, Vance, informed the Rogues and the Cilpari Resistance that Princess Leia had been captured. Consequently, they decided to launch a joint assault on the Imperial base to rescue "Leia", with the underground attacking by land and the Rogues providing air support with their X-wings. In the ensuing conflict, Tycho once again flew alongside the Imperials, but he soon turned against them. Vance was exposed as a spy and knocked out by Groznik, Loro's Wookiee companion. He was then devoured by a ronk in the jungle. Groznik almost killed Moff Tascl for the death of Throm Loro, Elscol's husband, but she instead decided to take him into custody.
