Cholganna

Cholganna, situated in the Outer Rim Territories, was a planet characterized by its dim and chilly forests. It served as the original homeworld for the nexus, a predatory species of felines; these creatures became scattered across different worlds due to their desirability as combat animals.

Description

Located in the Outer Rim Territories, specifically in grid square T-5 of the Standard Galactic Grid, Cholganna was a cool, shadowy planet featuring mountainous landscapes, dense jungles, and expansive forests.

Cholganna functioned as the native homeworld for a diverse range of organisms, notably the nexus – a species of predatory felines inhabiting the northern hemisphere. Other inhabitants included the bark rat, a common rodent preyed upon by the nexu, and arboreal octopi. Due to their fierce and lethal nature, the nexu were frequently captured by poachers and distributed across the galaxy to serve as fighting beasts in gladiator arenas.

Behind the scenes

The initial mention of Cholganna occurred in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones: The Visual Dictionary, a Star Wars Legends reference book authored by David West Reynolds and published on April 22, 2002. Its designation as canon was established with its inclusion in Ultimate Factivity Collection: Star Wars, an activity book for young readers written and edited by David Fentiman and Sadie Smith, which was released on June 16, 2014.
