Han Solo at Stars' End 1: A Classic Star Wars Tale is the initial release in Dark Horse Comics' series of Classic Star Wars: Han Solo at Stars' End, reprinting the original serialized newspaper comic strips.
Located near the Core Worlds of the Galactic Empire, the Corporate Sector is a sprawling region of space governed by powerful business tycoons, massive trading firms, and galaxy-spanning corporations, all of whom are loyal to the Empire. Imperial commercial interests dominate here, frequently supported by impressive private armies.
However, the Corporate Sector also presents a chance for those who possess the strength, courage, or recklessness to try and claim a piece of it for themselves. In the Corporate Sector, business acumen, a swift spacecraft, and a reliable blaster are all equally valuable assets.
Han Solo and Chewbacca realize they require a special Waiver to legally operate the Millennium Falcon within the Corporate Sector. They attempt to contact Doc, an illegal technician, but Doc's daughter, Jessa, informs them that Doc has disappeared, presumably kidnapped.
Han strikes a bargain with Jessa: in return for the Waiver and enhancements to the Falcon, he and Chewbacca will assist in the effort to uncover the fate of Doc and other adversaries of the Corporate Sector Authority, the capitalistic and authoritarian organization that controls the Corporate Sector.
As part of this endeavor, Han and Chewbacca transport two droids, Bollux and Blue Max, to the planet Orron III, where they meet with Rekkon, who is leading the search for the missing individuals.
Blue Max, a compact computer probe concealed within Bollux's chest cavity, manages to penetrate the Authority's computer network and initiate a search for the location of the abducted people. However, Rekkon's small team has been betrayed by an informant, and their activities are exposed. During the group's attempt to flee the planet, Chewbacca is captured by Espos (Authority Security Police) and taken away.
Han and the others successfully escape the planet aboard the Falcon. During their departure, the traitor shoots Rekkon and destroys the data Blue Max had collected. However, before his death, Rekkon manages to scribble the words "Stars' End, Mytus VII" on the Falcon's game table. Han deduces that this must be the location of the Authority's secret prison facility.
After exposing and dealing with the traitor, Han and the remaining members of Rekkon's group journey to Stars' End. Disguised as interstellar performers, they infiltrate the facility and liberate the kidnapped victims, including Doc and Chewbacca. The facility and its personnel are destroyed during their escape.
