A specific kind of protective gear for training was used by clone cadets while they underwent instruction on the planet of Kamino.
This armor included both a full body covering and a helmet. In comparison to the typical Phase I clone trooper armor, this armor had a more cushioned appearance, and its helmet allowed the entire face of the clone trooper to be seen, which was different from standard armor. While finishing their training, both Domino Squad and Bravo Squad made use of this armor. Its use was limited to Kamino, and upon a clone cadet's graduation from training, it was exchanged for actual clone armor.
The clone training armor was initially shown in the "Clone Cadets" episode. The design was influenced by the vintage leather outfits that football players used to wear.
