Coaxium regulators functioned as components within starship engines. Their purpose was to control the flow of coaxium necessary for hyperspace journeys. These regulators operated at extremely low temperatures, and they emitted a green energy beam into the ship's engines. If a regulator became detached, the beam's power could be catastrophic, potentially splitting a vessel in half. In 232 BBY during the Great Hyperspace Disaster, the coaxium regulator on the transport Vessel was dislodged when hyperspace debris originating from the Legacy Run struck the starship. Affie Hollow, the copilot, along with Reath Silas, a Jedi Padawan and passenger on board, successfully repaired the regulator's mounting, averting further harm.
