Cobb Unser functioned as a pilot for free traders (pilot) and was a contributing member of the FarStar's crew.
Cobb, a youthful free trader, journeyed alongside his sister, Corla. Permanently burdened by debt, he turned to drastic solutions in attempts to improve their circumstances. Sadly, his endeavors only deepened his financial woes. In the vicinity of 7 ABY, while evading bounty hunters, Cobb was forced to land on Kal'Shebbol. His freighter was seized due to his inability to settle the exorbitant starport fees imposed by Moff Kentor Sarne.
He and his sister made their home in the starport, attempting to earn sufficient funds to leave the planet. He secured employment repairing droids and starships, while Corla found work as a repulsorlift operator. Several weeks later, Corla vanished. With assistance from Loh'khar, the Finder, Cobb discovered that Sarne had developed an interest in his sister during her frequent deliveries to his palace and had dispatched her on one of his small courier vessels into the uncharted regions of the Kathol sector. From that point forward, his singular objective became finding her.
When the New Republic liberated Kal'Shebbol, Cobb enlisted with the FarStar's crew, hoping to locate his sister.
Cobb was characterized by his gloomy and pessimistic demeanor and was easily intimidated by individuals in positions of authority. In fact, even those of lower status could manipulate him into complying with their demands. He dedicated much of his time to repairing and conversing with the ship's droids, treating them as confidants. He generally avoided interaction with the crew, though he remained indebted to Loh'khar for the information he had provided regarding his sister.
Cobb endured the situation for only one purpose: the hope of reuniting with his sister, Corla. Nevertheless, he remained vigilant for any bounty hunters or debt collectors who might still be pursuing him.
