Coby was a young male child residing on the world of Tammuz-an circa 15 BBY.
He was the offspring of Lord Malameu Toda, a warlord and chieftain, the sibling of Gerin, and the owner of a diminutive white animal called Ingey. On one occasion, Jann Tosh escorted the boy to a space port located on Chuzalla, because Coby had gained acceptance into the Imperial Academy; however, a band of outlaws known as the Starhunters kidnapped Ingey and took the creature to Dandelo. Coby and Jann (accompanied by C-3PO and R2-D2) pursued the Starhunters and successfully liberated Ingey. It was there that he encountered an aged Near-Human character named Greej, and he opted to join Greej rather than pursue his education at the Academy.
In 15 BBY, Coby was nine years of age, possessed brown irises, verdant hair, and exhibited dark blue pigmentation of the skin. His height as a child was approximately 1.07 meters. Coby was attired in an orange military-style tunic, ebony boots, a fastening around the waist, and a scarlet officer's cap and trousers.
