Corbos, situated in the Outer Rim close to the Yavin system, was a planet abundant with various ores. The planet experienced "Black Rain Seasons," during which significant portions became uninhabitable because of intense and widespread thunderstorms.

The Battle of Corbos took place here in 6900 BBY, marking the conclusion of the Hundred-Year Darkness. The Dark Jedi suffered defeat in this conflict and subsequently abandoned their Force-altered Leviathans. Over the next millennia, groups of colonists periodically attempted to establish settlements on Corbos, only to be eliminated by Leviathans, their fates remaining a mystery to the galaxy.
In 12 ABY, an experimental mining settlement called Corbos Mining City, consisting of 793 miners and their families, was founded, but they too were eradicated by Leviathans. Subsequently, a team of Jedi, including Kyp Durron, Dorsk 82, Streen, and Kirana Ti, journeyed to the planet and successfully ended the Leviathans' threat.
In the years that followed, several archaeological expeditions explored the planet, but they did not report any Leviathan sightings. While some of these creatures might have survived in subterranean locations, definitive evidence was lacking. Consequently, colonists and miners continued to steer clear of the planet.
