Corellian slice hound

The Corellian slice hound, also called the razor hound, was a type of canine creature originating from Corellia.

Biology and Physical Traits

The Corellian slice hound derives its name from the sharpness of its teeth in conjunction with its spike-covered body. These hounds are predators that generally prey on creatures smaller than themselves, unless driven by extreme hunger. They typically hunt in coordinated packs, employing effective and lethal hunting strategies.

On occasion, Corellian slice hounds were domesticated and kept as pets.

A unique breed of Corellian slice hound, distinguished by its particular behavior, was recognized by hunters and explorers as the vicious slice hound. Unlike other slice hounds native to Corellia, these animals tended to establish their habitats near structures and natural landmarks frequently visited by humanoids. It was speculated that vicious slice hounds favored these locations due to the increased opportunities for discovering new sources of food.

Historical Information

During the time of the Galactic Civil War, Baron Merillion Tarko made use of these creatures in his gladiator arena located on Cato Neimoidia as part of his scheme to execute Jedi Master Rahm Kota. Following the Battle of Yavin, some slice hounds underwent transformation into cyborgs within the Imperial facility known as the Warren situated on Dantooine.

The Imperial TIE fighter pilot DS-61-3 displayed a stylized depiction of a Corellian slice hound painted on the interior hatch of his starfighter.
