Following the events of the Battle of Yavin, Coris Mao established himself in Mos Entha, a city located on Tatooine. In the year 1 ABY, Mao and his fellow businesspeople encountered difficulties with a local group of pirates, specifically the Sand Pirates, who were known for seizing transport vessels in that area. Ultimately, Coris Mao reached out to Sergeant Snopel, a retired Imperial commando, seeking assistance in eliminating the pirate threat.
