The Sand Pirate Base, a fortified emplacement, was situated on Tatooine and functioned as a headquarters for the criminal syndicate known as the Sand Pirates during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
This bunker served as the operational center for the Sand Pirates. Its location was on the Outer Rim planet of Tatooine, positioned atop a raised, uneven terrain a short distance to the north of Mos Entha, providing a vantage point overlooking the city. The interior spaces of the base were adorned with various decorative items, including a painting depicting a Tatooinian settlement, and hunting trophies consisting of a Bane Back spider and a painted spat.

In the aftermath of the Battle of Yavin, the Sand Pirates habitually launched assaults on any transport that ventured too close to their base of operations. During 1 ABY, the pirates instigated considerable difficulties for local traders and interfered with the dealings of Coris Mao's associates. Consequently, Mao made contact with Sergeant Snopel, a former Imperial commando who had retired, seeking to eliminate the pirate threat. Snopel then deployed a group of commandos who were still in training, tasking them with addressing the pirate situation. The commandos killed the two sentries stationed at the base's entrance, and proceeded to eliminate at least ten additional pirates within the bunker's confines, thereby conveying a message that innocent civilians could not be subjected to terror without consequences. At the base's deepest level, the soldiers confronted and neutralized the leader of the Sand Pirates. Ultimately, the commandos initiated a reactor overload within the base, leading to the structure's destruction via explosion. This operation temporarily disrupted the Sand Pirates' activities.
The Sand Pirate Base existed as a location within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This game was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, prior to its shutdown on December 15, 2011. The integration of the Sand Pirate Base into the game occurred with the release of "Publish 25," otherwise referred to as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
