Sand Pirates

The Sand Pirates were a band of pirates. They were active on the desert planet of Tatooine during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

History

Following the Battle of Yavin, the Sand Pirates established their headquarters in a bunker. This bunker was situated near the city of Mos Entha. Their modus operandi involved ambushing any transport that ventured too close to their stronghold.

In the year 1 ABY, the pirates became a significant nuisance to local trader and interfered with the dealings of Coris Mao's associates. As a result, Mao sought the assistance of Sergeant Snopel, a retired Imperial commando, tasking him with eliminating the pirate threat. Snopel responded by deploying a group of commandos undergoing training to confront the pirates. The commandos launched an assault on the Sand Pirate Base, resulting in the deaths of numerous pirates. They also successfully eliminated the pirate leader and ultimately destroyed the base, effectively disrupting the pirates' activities for an extended period.
