Corsair Squadron was a squadron of starfighters utilizing T-65 X-wing starfighters. Wes Janson and Derek Klivian established it three years following the Battle of Endor. To alleviate the strain on the elite Rogue Squadron imposed by Alliance High Command, it was one of three units created by former Rogue Squadron pilots, along with Talon and Gauntlet. While the true Rogue Squadron engaged in unauthorized attacks on Thyferra, several Corsair pilots briefly served in the replacement Rogue Squadron under Hobbie's leadership.
During the hunt for Warlord Zsinj and his fleet, Corsair Squadron was a component of General Han Solo's fleet. Furthermore, it was included in Commander Wedge Antilles' flight formation throughout the Battle of Selaggis. It is highly probable that Corsair Squadron sustained significant casualties in this battle when the Second Death detonated, providing cover for the Super Star Destroyer _Iron Fist_ to escape.
