A cortosis gauntlet was a type of protective gauntlet constructed from cortosis metal. During the High Republic Era, a Sith identified as "the Stranger" had one of these gauntlets on his left arm. During a battle that took place on Khofar, he benefited from the gauntlet's ability to defend against lightsaber attacks. Ultimately, the gauntlet met its end at the hands of Yord Fandar, a young Jedi, who shattered it using fragments of the Stranger's Cortosis helmet.
